"Only for those with guts made of steel" 2009-10-12
By Michelle Smith (Michigan)
I bought this book because I have a ton of digestive problems. I was hoping the recipes would be basic and use ingredients that were natural but at the same time nurturing for a sensative stomach. That is not even close to what I got. There is not one recipe that I can safelty make from this book. Every recipe is loaded with citrus or tomatoes or some other kind of acidic, spicy ingredient. Also, the ingredient lists are so long that you may as well use that box of Kraft macaroni that has the mile long list of ingredients. If someone were to make any of thse recipes and is a novice "whole" foods cook, they would have to spend a fortune stocking there cupboards. I do not recommend this book to anyone. And, as a registered dietitian, I can say there are much better health food cookbooks on the market that this one.

"Healthy eating that tastes good!" 2009-09-14
By William R. Hillyer (Fitzgerald, Ga USA)
The first 90 pages would make the price paid well worth it! The book lays out principles on nutrition that are easily understood and there is no counting, weighing or measuring. The recipes are also great. A cook book we men can fallow.

 "Awesome!" 2009-07-17

This book, like the Larsons' earlier books, makes healthy living doable for the average, busy person with a budget. Well done!

 "Great information!" 2009-07-08
By Buecherwurm (Thousand Oaks, CA)
Love this cookbook! The first part of the book talks about nutrition. The most helpful to me was the information on how to read food labels and what ingredients to avoid in supermarket food!

If you read "In Defense of Food" and want to take it to the next level, this book is perfect for you. It offers concrete, practical advice and wonderful recipes.
