My daughter has celiac disease and when she moved back home, I quickly became frustrated because I was never completely certain that the food was gluten free. I found this book while on a vacation and quickly read it. I have a much better understanding of how to read labels and detect whether there is gluten in the product. This book has given me knowledge and alternative choices.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs to understand gluten-free diets. I quickly bought another copy and gave it to a friend who also has symptoms of celiac disease.

Shelley Case is THE leading expert when it comes to the gluten free diet. As a Registered Dietitian, it's like a bible to me and my patients. She has so much knowledge to share and I am excited to have Shelley's expertise as a resource. The gluten free diet can be daunting for many, and she provides a very easy to understand, and realistic dietary recommendations. As I see more patients with Celiac Disease, it is common that many are eating so many processed foods, and not making nutritious choices. This is the book I recommend to every patient that I see! Thank you for your amazing work, Shelley!

When I was diagnosed 7 years ago, I was thrown into the world and told to eat gluten-free. As you can imagine, I was clueless as what that meant and how to do it. I was directed to Shelley Case's first edition of this book and it was a true 'God-send' for me! It told me what to look for, what to avoid, what to question and what was fine to eat. Shelley is a licensed Dietician and extremely knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and the Gluten-Free Diet. I highly recommend this book!

I know of no better resource manual on the gluten-free diet than Shelley Case's newest edition of Gluten-Free Diet: A Comprehensive Resource Guide. The title aptly depicts her instructional material--it's comprehensive! Her chapter on nutrition stands out with its wealth of detail addressing nutritional deficiencies too often found in individuals with celiac disease. Based on age, Case breaks down the percentage of various nutrients necessary for health, lists foods containing these nutrients and the milligrams contained in a serving size. Well researched, this book is an invaluable guide to anyone with gluten sensitivities.
