I've had to reduce my salt intake to help prevent and control migraines. My husband and I loved to eat at restaurants with great food; we both hate to cook. My new sodium goal was so low, however, we had to re-learn what foods were acceptable. This cookbook has been a huge help! We've been using it for about four months now, and we make at least 2-4 new recipes per week. A couple have been a bust, and a few we've had to modify to avoid food allergies, but overall these recipes have been delicious, relatively easy to make, and very low in sodium and calories.

Since I'm not much of a cook, I was looking for a low salt cookbook since my mother has high blood pressure. This book is perfect because the American Heart Association provides a wide variety of recipes which I haven't used yet since I'm not much of a cook. Anyway, the layout also provides a lot more information regarding a low salt diet such as possible substitutes. I would have liked to have seen actual pictures of the meals and food in the book to make it more realistic I guess. But I'm keeping this book in the kitchen just in case I have to make something law salt. Anyway the price is reasonable and the book is full of useful information regarding a low salt diet and contact and science information to help inform the public.

I bought this cookbook for my mother who just had heart valve replacement. It has a lot of ideas on how to reduce salt from your diet. We all need to do that.

Bought this book for my mom who has very high blood pressure. She has trying the different recipes and not only has she reduced her blood pressure readings, she has also trimmed the fat out of her diet.

This cookbook is so much better than I expected. The recipes are modern and easy to follow. The ingredients called for are items we've all heard of and our families would eat. I am a big fan of the Food Network and was worried a low sodium diet would be tough to follow and would be boring. I am very encouraged by this book. I highly recommend it for anyone trying to eat healthy.
